Do I need to book a table?

You’re very welcome to just turn up for drinks, but booking is the safest way to guarantee a table — especially on Friday and Saturday evenings or with a group larger than 8. All of our experiences (afternoon tea, brunch and sharing tables) must be booked in advance.

How do I book a table?

Accepted Answer

Everything is booked here on our website. Choose your experience, tell us how many of you there are, then pick a date and time — our live availability comes straight from the system our team uses in venue, so what you see is what we have. You’ll get an instant confirmation email with a link to manage your booking. We don’t take bookings by phone.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Notice varies by experience — freshly baked experiences such as afternoon tea need the most, while drinks bookings can be made close to the time, subject to availability. The current notice period for every experience is shown live in the ‘deposits & notice by experience’ table on this page, and the booking widget will only offer dates and times you can still book.

How big a group can I book for?

You can book online for up to 20 guests. We’ll always try to seat you together on one table first, and only split you across neighbouring tables when a single table isn’t available. For parties over 20, or for a full venue hire, please get in touch through our contact page and we’ll build something around you.

Why is your booking system showing no availability?

Accepted Answer

Each experience closes off a set time before service — 30 minutes for drinks, food and brunch, 3 days for our sharing tables and 4 days for afternoon tea — so very late bookings won’t show. Outside of those cut offs, no availability means we’re genuinely fully booked at that time. Try a different time or date, or drop us a message and we’ll let you know if anything frees up.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

It depends on the experience. Some experiences take a per‑person deposit which is deducted from your final bill on the day, some take a small card check instead, and others are free to book. The exact amount for each experience is shown live in the ‘deposits & notice by experience’ table on this page and in the booking widget before you confirm.

What is a booking pre-authorisation?

For our walk-in style bookings (Just Drinks and Food & Drink) we place a £1 pre-authorisation on your card to confirm it’s valid. It isn’t a charge and the hold drops off automatically. We only ever take a payment against it if booking terms are broken — for example a no-show, or venue property going missing.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Yes — use the ‘manage my booking’ link in your confirmation email or the Manage Booking page on this website. Each experience has its own change window, shown live in the ‘deposits & notice by experience’ table on this page and on your confirmation. Deposits are non‑refundable, but within that window we’ll happily move your booking to another date subject to availability.

Why do I have to pre-order for some experiences?

Our Enchanted Afternoon Tea, Bottomless Brunch and sharing tables are all prepared specially for your group, so we ask you to choose your food and drink packages when you book. You can add or change your pre-order using the link in your confirmation email up until the cut off for that experience.

How do I contact you about a booking I’ve made?

The quickest way is to reply to your confirmation email — it lands straight in our reservations inbox with your booking attached. You can also use the contact form on our contact page; pop your booking reference and date in and we’ll match your message to your reservation. You can amend or cancel most bookings yourself using the ‘manage my booking’ link in your confirmation email.

Are you dog friendly?

We can’t allow dogs inside the bar, but we’d love to see them outside — we now have an outdoor area where well‑behaved dogs on a lead are very welcome to join you. Water bowls are available, just ask the team. Assistance dogs are of course welcome throughout the venue.

Do you have an outdoor area?

Yes! Our outdoor area is open for drinks and food, weather permitting, and it’s dog friendly too. When you book Just Drinks or Food & Drink you can let us know you’d prefer to sit outside and we’ll do our best — outdoor seating can’t be guaranteed and our experiences (afternoon tea, brunch and sharing tables) are served inside only.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Unfortunately our bar is based on the first floor of Contract House which means we have a large staircase to gain entry into our venue.

Can under 18’s visit?

Of course! Enchant welcomes everyone into our magical enchanted forest, we allow under 18’s up until 9pm! Please note we follow a strict challenge 25 policy when purchasing alcohol.

Is there parking nearby?

There’s plenty of parking within a short walk of Contract House, including the town centre car parks. Parking isn’t owned or managed by us, so please check the signage for charges and time limits.

Can I bring my own decorations into the venue?

Accepted Answer

Our venue allows you to bring balloons, cake & banners for the table. We're unable to have any decorations stuck to our walls, furnishings or greenery. We also ask that you do not bring confetti or sparkler candles into the venue. Please ensure any decorations that are bought into the venue are taken with you once you leave. You are welcome to bring decorations prior to your booking, please leave these with a staff member, stating the booking name they are for as there may be bookings sat in your area prior to your booking time. Our team will be happy to put these decorations out prior to your visit.

What happens if we arrive late?

Please try to arrive on time — tables are held for 15 minutes. If you arrive later than that we may need to shorten your seating (including any bottomless session) or release the table if it’s needed for another booking. No refunds are given and the full bill is still payable.

When do you serve last orders?

Accepted Answer

Our last orders for drinks are half an hour before we close, all drinks must be consumed before the final half an hour of service has ended to meet our licensing laws.

When do you host Enchanted Afternoon Tea?

Can we select different afternoon tea drink packages?

You sure can! When making your booking, our system will allow you to select which afternoon tea drink packages you’d like per person. Please note, if your require a premium drink upgrade, all members of the party must upgrade to qualify.

How does ordering from the tablet work?

Accepted Answer

On bottomless experiences you order your next drink yourself, either from the tablet on your table or on your own phone. It shows what’s included, how long is left of your session and everything you’ve ordered so far, so there’s no waiting to catch a bartender’s eye.

We do! We have a great range of theatrical Mocktails for under 18’s and non drinkers to enjoy.

Do you cater for allergies or intolerances?

At Enchant Bar we produce all our products with the utmost care to ensure they are safe for you to enjoy. Certain experiences we offer can not be offered to individuals with allergies/intolerences. Please note, we're unable to offer specific alternations to our Enchanted Afternoon Tea, this is due to us working with a third party baker who can not offer this.

Question 24

What happens if someone in the group is disruptive?

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone behaving in a disruptive, abusive or unsafe way towards our team or other guests. If this happens, any bottomless session will be ended early with no refund given — even if it’s just one member of the party, the whole session ends and the party will be asked to leave.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

We have some great branded ‘Bank of Enchant’ gift vouchers available in the value(s) of £10, perfect for any special occasion — just ask one of our bar tenders. We also sell digital vouchers on our gift vouchers page, which are emailed instantly to you or straight to the lucky recipient.

How do I redeem a gift voucher?

Accepted Answer

If you have a physical gift voucher, you can redeem these at the time of paying for your bill. If you have a digital gift voucher, you will need to present us with the voucher code which is displayed on your voucher. Please note, our vouchers can only be used once and no change will be given if the full value has not been met.

How long is a voucher valid for?

All digital gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Can I use a voucher towards a booking?

Accepted Answer

Yes — vouchers can be used against any booking, or spent in venue on drinks, food and experiences. Deposits still need to be paid at the time of booking to secure your table; these come off your final bill on the day alongside your voucher.
